Singapore Street Cats

On a recent visit to Singapore we took the time to travel all over the city and take pictures of the Singapore Street Cats.

Singapore is an island much like Abu Dhabi and they have an excellent Trap- Neuter-Release Program.
Singapore’s Trap Neuter and Release Program has been in place for a number of years. People who feed street cats are encouraged and helped by the Municipality to have their cats trapped and sterilized for free.

To this end the Singapore Street Cat is big and healthy and their numbers are kept in check. It is not unusual to walk around in the evening and see young and old people feeding street cats and caring for them.

Feline Friends has been trying to get the Abu Dhabi Municipality to adopt this program in an effort to reduce the number of street cats. Sterilization will also help maintain good health and reduce the numbers of starving cats that we see on the streets of Abu Dhabi.
